THE INTERIM GOVERNMENT'S POSITION ON SELF-DEFENCE IN THE TERRITORY OF AMBAZONIA (FORMER BRITISH SOUTHERN CAMEROONS)

The Interim Government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia (Former British Southern Cameroons) wishes to reiterate its position concerning its self-defence policy on the ongoing war illegally declared on the armless citizens of Ambazonia.

We wish to recall that the unjust war was declared uniquely by La Republique du Cameroun (LRC) in November 2017 as a result of decades of failed attempts to illegally assimilate the people and territory of former British Southern Cameroons.

We further wish to remind LRC in particular and the civilized world at large that LRC and the Former British Southern Cameroons are separated by internationally recognized boundaries and that LRC had independence on January 1st 1960 without former British Southern Cameroons being part of it.

The forceful and illegal occupation of Ambazonia by LRC since 1st October 1961 is foreign occupation and aggression punishable under international law. By virtue of the foregoing, the Interim Government has only two objectives in the prosecution of the above-mentioned war.

First, the Interim Government is defending its territory against an aggressor-LRC.

Second, our objective is to force the aggressor state to retreat to her own territory within the internationally recognized boundaries that separate the two territories.

The Interim Government does not and has never nursed territorial expansion tendencies towards her hostile eastern neighbor-LRC. Self-Defence Forces under the command of this Interim Government have not at any point of this struggle crossed their internationally recognized boundaries to carry out any attacks whatsoever in any part or parts of LRC. Claims mostly on social media platforms attributing attacks in LRC to our self-defence forces are therefore FALSE.
