RESIDENT SAMUEL IKOME SAKO REACTS TO MONDONI ATTACK ON CDC WORKERS ON BBC
President Sako Distances The IG From The February 10th Attack On CDC Workers
It has always been the scheme of the neighboring LRC government, enemy to the progress of former British Southern Cameroons, Ambazonia to rubbish the liberation struggle of the Ambazonian Restoration Forces on the ground. They do this by carrying out inhumane actions against the people of Southern Cameroons in the name of the Ambazonian Restoration Forces, to turn the people against the fighters. A recent such act was the raining of bullets on a truck carrying CDC workers killing five and wounding others on Friday, February 10, 2023, in Modoni, a locality of the Equatorial zone of Ambazonia. Samuel Ikome Sako, President of the Ambazonia Interim Government in an interview with BBC, stated categorically that the attack does not align with the way the ARFs operate.
The President of the Ambazonia Interim Government, Dr. Samuel Ikome Sako has distanced the ARF of the IG from the attack and killing of CDC workers in Mondoni. He was speaking in an interview with the BBC. To the President the way the attack on the CDC workers doesn't reflect the way the Ambazonian Restoration Forces ARF operates. "It is not part of our practice to just go into any place even if those people are acting contrary to our orders and spray bullets like spraying mosquitoes. That has not been our modus operandi. Four actors are active in the war terrains in Ambazonia. That has not been our style, many times when people go against our laws, they are arrested, threatened, and then released". He added. Talking on the prospects of peace in Ambazonia, President Dr. Sako said they can't talk of peace on less the aggressor in this case LRC is willing to dialogue because they have lodged themselves in a logic of the Military option. To him, LRC needs to show a willingness to come to the table mediated for possible normalcy if not peace if impossible.
Reacting to the failed Canada Peace talks initiative, President Sako opined that the mediator can not self-elect, the parties involved in the conflict should elect their mediator and endorse him to kick on. LRC objected that they never gave a mandate to Canada to mediate likewise FRA never endorsed Canada either. The President equally expressed the willingness for the FRA to sit in for a dialogue when things get serious with the LRC which is killing the people of Ambazonia sending representatives and somebody to head the Delegation to be able to report back to their president.
