NKAMBE COLONIAL DIVISIONAL OFFICER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT AMBAZONIANS CAN BETTER PROTECT THEMSELVES

Insecurity is indeed on the rise as a result of the ongoing war in Southern Cameroons, Ambazonia, and something has to be done to remedy the situation. But not certainly from LRC agents who are the reason behind the insecurity. The colonial LRC Divisional officer of Nkambe LGA has called on the traditional rulers from that part of the Savannah Zone to form vigilante groups to combat insecurity. Who are the perpetrators of insecurity that this shameless Biya puppet wants the people to stand up against? Is it not a strategy to bring youths together and tag them as restoration fighters and slaughter them?

Insecurity and other threats in most villages in Nkambe, Donga Mantung County of the Savannah Zone of Ambazonia are reported to be on the rise. The most recent was the gruesome killing of a teacher of the Government School Njap after the 11th February 2023 celebrations. It is in this light that the colonial Divisional Officer (DO) for Nkambe, Ngida Lawrence Che pretentiously organized an administrative coordination and security meeting on March 5th in the name of tackling some of the issues plaguing the locality.

The meeting was attended by LRC defense and security forces, colonial administrative authorities, religious and traditional rulers, and civil society organizations. According to the DO, apart from the security threats, cattle theft, robbery, and threatening messages have been coming in from the restoration fighters of late hence the necessity to reinforce vigilance in all the 17 villages making up the Nkambe LGA. The outing of the colonial Divisional officer is evident to the fact that the people of Southern Cameroons, Ambazonia have lost hope in the colonial LRC security forces, who instead inflict a lot of suffering on the people. They loot shops, burn houses and businesses, and abuse young and old sexually.

The so-called security groups he is asking the traditional rulers to create are the same protection that the Ambazonian Restoration Fighters are determined to give the people, but first, they have to kick the thugs of LRC out of place. The traditional rulers who have been reduced by the Yaounde system as auxiliaries to the administration promised to support the project. An acceptance they pushed out to stay alive
