BRIEF HISTORY AMBAZONIA

Pa Augustine Ndangam Reacts To Professor Carlson Ayangwe

On Tuesday we brought to you a

Message from Professor Carlson Anyangwe to Ambazonians on Canada Pre-talks with LRC,

Which he sent out in the early hours of the day

Part of it read:

“I just want everyone to keep in mind that up to now Canada has been about pre-talks. The focus there has been to get the wily enemy to commit to good faith negotiations aimed at a peaceful resolution of the conflict by addressing its root causes…

We have not yet got to the stage of negotiations. And even at that stage it is not going to be an easy road.”

He made two appeals, the first one, in his words:

“ I appeal to all our people at home and abroad to be united in purpose and iron-clad determination. In that way we do not open our flanks to the enemy.”

Good advice, but those who are concerned with being United in purpose of the liberation struggle, would not go through BACK DOOR talks with Lrc, especially being at its mercy, it is more realistic when you practice what you preach, and in this case he doesn’t seem to do so.

And the second appeal, he states that it is to Ambazonian experts in various fields to hone their expertise.

In his words

“They should be on standby to be called to national duty to give of their expertise on various issues that require expert knowledge and experience in the course of the negotiations.”

“During negotiations we must be able to call in our experts on any matter that crops up … with the necessary technical knowledge that will enable us to frame our argument in a way that buttresses our position.

We may not have experts in all the fields likely to come up. In such a case we will resort to expertise from OUTSIDE. In any way event, we could always get our experts to work together with other experts in given areas.”

Like we said on Tuesday

We don't exactly understand who mandated Prof. Ayangwe to speak FOR Ambazonians. He is a man from Momo County and so should know that, no one can give the hand of another's daughter into marriage.

Hence Whatever he is doing is not binding on us. Ambazonians.

We wondered and are still wondering Where Anyangwe is fighting?

Well today we have

A REPLY TO PROFESSOR ANYANGWE

By Pa Augustine Ndangam

We’ll just read through

“At the Centre of it all is the Ambazonian decolonization question” Professor Carlson Anyangwe.

Decolonization was a United Nations’ programme and all U.N. trust territories were colonised by the U.N. Indeed all colonies were decolonised by the U.N. and formally admitted into membership of the U.N.

Why should the decolonisation of the British Southern Cameroons aka Ambazonia be a back-door negotiation in Canada.

Why should Southern Cameroons negotiate its own decolonization from the hands of the aggressor whose barbaric attack has slaughtered thousands of Southern Cameroonian civilian men, women and children?”

He goes on to say

“All U.N. Trust and Non- Self-Governing Territories including the Republic of Cameroon were decolonized by the process stated in U.N. Resolution 1514 XV Paragraph 5 for their decolonization.

Every trust territory (international territory) or colony was decolonized by this standard process and a General Assembly Resolution adopted to that effect.

Then a complimentary U.N.(GA) Resolution normally granted UN membership to the territory (or colony) so decolonised.

The root cause of the Southern Cameroons question is the non-decolonisation of this UN trust territory.”

Continuing with that, he says

“The British Government (Southern Cameroons’ Administering Authority) took the decision to transfer British Southern Cameroons to the President of Cameroon in violation of UN Resolution 1514 XV Paragraph 5 and on terms that have remained undisclosed.

This transfer bypassed the elected and functioning government of the Southern Cameroons and its legislature.

If Canada is undertaking this U.N. job of decolonization, has Canada also assured your group on the complementary Resolution of the U.N. General Assembly granting membership of the United Nations to Southern Cameroons?

Let us be clear to ourselves and frank to all connected to our problem. Grave injustice was done to our country at the end of colonial rule when the U.K. decided that British Southern Cameroon was too small and too poor to be a sovereign state and should join either Nigeria or the Republic of Cameroon.”

He goes on to say

“We remain thankful to the U.N. Secretary General of the time Mr. Dag Hammarskjold who saw clearly that the British idea for the United Nations to conduct a plebiscite in British Southern Cameroon was aimed at suppressing the self-determination right of the people of British Southern Cameroon and decided to talk to the British Government.

Unfortunately Mr. Dag Hammarskjold died shortly after his meeting in Buea with representatives of the British Government and the meeting and changes he planned to make on the Plebiscite in British Southern Cameroon did not see the light of day.

President Biya’s decision to invade British Southern Cameroon aka Ambzonia and settle a political question through violence makes him the aggressor or the PROBLEM. As such he cannot be the problem and also the SOLUTION. That self-contradictory Aggressor-Solution Mr. Biya is absolutely unacceptable.

The United Nations should take its Charter responsibility to stop the current war between its two former trust territories given that the root cause of the conflict is the non-decolonization of one trust territory and the non-observance of procedural issues and the non-implementation of Resolution 1608 XV all of which the Republic of Cameroon is taking undue advantage for its invasion.”

Pa Augustine Ndangam continues:

“The U.N. works on the core value of democracy and voting which all Western Member-States practise.

1. The General Assembly of the U.N. the supreme Organ of the United Nations can

carry out a vote (YES or NO) on full independence for British Southern Cameroon.

This vote should repeal UN GA Resolution 1608 XV and its conditional independence for British Southern Cameroon. That resolution had remained unimplemented since it was adopted.

2. The United Nations can and should refer the question of the non-decolonization of British Southern Cameroon to the I.C.J. for legal advice: WAS THE DECOLONIZATION OF BRITISH CAMEROONS VALID AND CONCLUSIVE? in which case only the aggrieved party (The British Southern Cameroon) should be party before the Court.

3 The United Nations has used Referendums to resolve and bring closure to conflicts In various parts of the world.

Among the most recent cases are the United Nations organised referendums that ended the war between Indonesia and East Timor; Ethiopia and Eritrrea, North and South Sudan Hund and Papua New Guinea and Bougainville.

As recent as in 1999 The President of Cameroon Mr. Paul Biya himself suggested a referendum as a possible option for resolving the conflict in Southern Cameroon.”

With that you see a clear statement has already been made by the president of Lrc himself,

Well Pa Augustine Ndangam continues saying:

“ In June 1995 the people of Southern Cameroons themselves conducted the Signature Referendum in which 315 000 Southern Cameroonians of voting age from all 13 Counties voted YES to the question Do you Want the Southern Cameroons To Achieve full Independence From La Republique du Cameroun? registering 99% in favor of separation.

The United Nations can organise a referendum in British Southern Cameroons and let the people themselves decide their own future themselves.”

British southern Cameroons historicity can not be hidden and neither can its future.
