Statement on peace process in Cameroon

“The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement on the announcement of a peace process aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis in the North-West and South-West regions of Cameroon:”
Okay a quick pause, a quick digression
North west south west regions, has become a reoccurring description of the two Cameroons,
Remember in some reactions from Ambazonians we looked at last week, a particular Ambazonian corrected this fact here that it is British southern Cameroon, and all of a sudden the distinction between the two cameroons has gone all the way to just north west and south west regions, further blurring the facts that both cameroons were initially two separate entity.
Alright this Statement on peace process in “Cameroon” goes on to say.
“Civilians are bearing the brunt of the ongoing crisis in Cameroon, with more than 6,000 people having lost their lives since 2017. In addition, nearly 800,000 people have been displaced as a result of this crisis, and 600,000 children do not have full access to education.” Alright, who else noticed the series of incorrect figures, 6,000 lost lives since 2017? Over 40,000 lost lives since then! And to think this backdoor talk is supposed to go on with people who don’t even have the facts and figures correct is amazing.
Moving in with this Canada statement, it says:
“Canada welcomes the agreement by the parties to enter a process to reach a comprehensive, peaceful and political resolution of the conflict. The parties have also agreed to form technical committees to begin work on confidence-building measures. “The agreement to enter a formal process is a critical first step toward peace and a safer, more inclusive and prosperous future for civilians affected by the conflict. “We commend all parties for engaging in substantive dialogue. We encourage all stakeholders to support and work with the parties to advance and contribute to an inclusive process to reach a lasting and sustainable political settlement. What happened to the genuine Swiss led mediation? The entire statement has a lot to debunk, but we’ll leave that for the v.p Mr Eric Ateh who, we’ll be having in a bit, to do justice to this.
Let’s just continue. The concluding parts of this statement says:
“Canada has accepted the mandate to facilitate this process, as part of our commitment to promote peace and security and advance support for democracy and human rights. Our role also reflects Canada’s engagement to work with our African partners to build a better future for everyone. “The parties to this agreement are the Republic of Cameroon, the Ambazonia Governing Council and the Ambazonia Defence Force, the African People’s Liberation Movement and the Southern Cameroons Defence Force, the Interim Government, and the Ambazonia Coalition Team. The parties further express the hope that other groups will join the process.’’
Now as concerns these talks,
The President of the federal Republic of Ambazonia, Dr Samuel Ikome Sako has made it abundantly clear to the international community and to bonafide Ambazonians that the interim government which he leads cannot be part of any talks aimed at ending the genocidal war on Ambazonia when a mediator has not been agreed upon by the belligerent parties. This position is contained in a press release signed October 6, 2022 by Dr Sako and reiterated in another press release issued on October 11, 2022 by the IG Secretary of state for Communication and IT Dr Mungwa. In these communiqués it is stated inter-alia that “because of LRC outright rejection of the Swiss – led Process, Switerland pulled out as mediator of any possible talks between Ambazonia and LRC” .
These releases further buttresses the point that in a conflict with international dimension like the one in question, it is appropriate for the mediator to be mandated by both sides of the conflict, the FroA led by the IG on the one hand and LRC led by its colonial government on the other hand. The communiqués express doubts on the role of the Canadian government in such cases. Let's look at Deacon Paul Tassangs View. Canadian Government Foreign Office in which the Hon. Melanie Joly, Minister, announced that Canada has accepted to facilitate "a peace process aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis in the North-West and South-West regions of Cameroon." Whereas this is good news after the collapse of the Swiss Led Process, the Canadian offer rather leaves a sour diplomatic taste in its wake.
Remember that In Diplomacy Masters Class Made Simple (I), I did explain that the most urgent and important thing in conflict management is getting the belligerents to agree to a mediated conflict resolution process, and particularly, getting the powerful aggressor belligerent party to agree to negotiate. First of all, it is important that we lay to rest misgivings surrounding the use of some terms and designations. Peace Process: Wikipedia defines: A peace process is the set of sociopolitical negotiations, agreements and actions that aim to solve a specific armed conflict.
PEACE is the sublime endpoint of every credible conflict resolution process that addresses root causes and establishes justice after the truths in the matter have been fully established and considered. For this sublime endpoint to be achieved, the facilitator must make sure that all parties, and factions of parties, come to the table, and more importantly, that the principal faction is part of the process. Failing this, its efforts will be in futility. The designation of the territory of the Southern Cameroons Ambazonia as the North West and South West regions of Cameroun may seem obnoxiously annoying to Ambazonians but that is what it will be until statehood recognition and independence restoration are achieved. From The Department of communication and IT we have this letter signed by Dr. Martin Mungwa. According to Dr mungwa who reiterated our position that mediators in any peace process can neither be self-imposed nor self-appointed.
They must be elected by the belligerent parties involved in the conflict as of today no broad-based consultation or what the engagement was involved in the institution of the interim government of the federal Republic of ambazonia which represents our liberation critical mass and the aspirations of the overwhelming majority of ambazonia adult home front and in the diaspora Canada as one of the observance and sponsors of the Swiss Led process knows the character of these conflicts and the principal parties on both side after more than five years of the conflict. Therefore, to intitiate a peace process without due consultation and worthy the engagement with one of the principles of this conflict is a recipe for failure.
This is because it contradicts the fundamental of conflict resolution it is a waste of time financial and human resources aimed at executing their much billion plan of the enemy la republic du cameroon which seeks to distract ourselves defendants in amazonia and continuous act of genocide destruction of human settlement and private property some of those a David and groups listed as parties claiming to represent the ambazonia side in the minister's statement are little known individuals with very negligible following and limited involvement in the amazonian cause most of whom do not represent the aspirations of the overwhelming majority of ambazonia .
The formation of ambazonia coalition team- Act (which was meant to serve as an umbrella organisation) as one of the parties is a misnomer because the principal and initiation initiator of act which is the interim government of the federal Republic of ambazonia is not a party to the initial process and did not endorse those claiming to be representing her in the Canada m schedule for any group of persons purported to represent the interim government in meetings with Canada are proud to the states that by the Canadian foreign minister are in posters and must not be taken seriously.
