A 15-Year Ambazonian Has Died After Consuming Herbs.
The ravaging consequences of the ongoing war in Southern Cameroons are on a surge as days go by. The plight of those who have fled the violence to LRC is a call for concern. The exploitative tendencies of Senior LRC government officials against these Ambazonian displaced persons should be condemned with all strength. These devilish senior LRC government officials because of their proximity to power and their wealth think they can do and undo without being scratched by their victims or family of their victims. A young girl who before her demise had great dreams is the newest on the sexual exploitation list. Just 15 years old, a senior LRC functionary gave her concoctions to take after impregnating her via rape. The mixture only helped in killing her. This is one too many. Is this the type of pleasure that the colonial LRC senior functionaries are enjoying that they don't want the conflict to end? A young girl 15 by the name of Berinyuy Shanta's early death has left family members and many bewildered. She died in an attempt to commit abortion in Yaounde, the political capital of LRC. A senior civil servant of the LRC government used his flashy wallet to lure Shanta closer. The moment he succeeded to have Berinyuy Shanta in his den, he never hesitated to force his way through her.
On her dying bed, Shanta confessed that after discovering that she was pregnant from that day's act, she went back to her rapist. The man concocted some herbs for her to be consuming after assuring her that they will flush the unwanted. It is after consuming the mixture for a week that Shanta fell ill and was rushed to the hospital. It is at the hospital that it was discovered that the substance she has been taking has destroyed some vital organs in her. Despite all medical attention and intervention, she passed on. The family and sympathizers are not willing just to be shock absorbers. They have decided to press charges against the author of the pregnancy, the rapist and at the same time the herbalist be brought to book for him to answer and pay for his crimes.
The family opines that Berinyuy was still a minor. For that reason, it can't be said she was in any love relationship with this man. "On her dying bed, she disclosed to us that this man forced and raped her," the lawyer added. Berinyuy Shanta is an orphan with no mother or father. Because of the conflict in Southern Cameroons, his uncle residing in Yaounde decided to take her over to continue schooling.
